KP Brehmer and Thousand Ways of Employing Data

I was invited by Arter to give an online talk (in Turkish) about data visualization and art on the occasion of the exhibition KP Brehmer: The Big Picture. The talk was titled “KP Brehmer and Thousand Ways of Employing Data”; we explored the myriad ways KP Brehmer deals with data – in the way it is gathered, selected, visualized and interpreted – and attempted to recognize and situate a portion of the artist’s rich artistic output within the history of information graphics. Through KP Brehmer, we also talked about various topics such as the ideological function of data graphics, practices of personal data collection and visualization, and using data graphics within ‘the art world’. At the end, we had a nice discussion with the curator Selen Ansen.
